Who would guess that the serious and resolute Paul Vizard, founder
and CEO of 30aTV, conceals an inner Julia? The witty and spontaneous
side of this Irishman is one of three stars on the network favorite
The 3 Julias. The humorous farce is part of a new 30aTV lineup
currently running on its Web site www.30atelevision.com and
Mediacom Cable Channel 8, which serves the 30A television viewing
area from Inlet Beach to Grand Boulevard and extends to Mexico
Beach and Apalachicola. Shooting on location in HD format, Vizard’s
mission is to entertain, inform and provide the 30A community
with access to local and Internet TV and the world of ever-changing
social media markets.
30aTV began
when Vizard the Internet wizard decided he wanted to help boost
local 30A businesses. With his usual fire, he created a Web
site where potential advertisers and neighborhood programs could
reach beyond local homeowners and businesses. He soon began
buying television airtime first by the half hour, then daily.
Now, 30aTV broadcasts full time. The network targets spirited
and discerning viewers and provides them with information about
30A events, performances and leisure activities. An enthusiastic
and energetic staff hosts and edits programs that offer residents
and vacationers an in-depth look into happenings in the arts,
places to dine and shop, and insight on how to get involved
with local charities.
As CEO of
FLV Hosting—a leading video hosting and software company—and
as editor in chief of the growing network of 30a Media Inc.,
Vizard rarely sleeps. Now with broadcasts running 24/7, the
station offers an eclectic mix of trendy programs such as Nightlife,
with interviews and features about the nightly bar and party
scene; Johnny C, a cheeky peek at current affairs and life in
general hosted by Beachcomber contributing writer Johnny C.
Alexander; Good Morning 30a, a magazine show that combines area
talent with nonprofit organizers and advertisers into 30-minute
segments; and the roguish cooking show The 3 Julias featuring
award-winning singer Redd as Brooklyn Julia, talented show host
Julie Brown as Southern Julia and Vizard as Julia Child.
Indeed,
there is no rest for the weary. With their up-and-running new
facilities in Santa Rosa Beach soon to house four show sets,
editing facilities and sales desks, the hardworking group at
30aTV is reaching for the stars. Adding to its zesty growth
are upcoming programs for children, and the music crowd (The
Beachcomber Beat, a partnership with this publication), artsy
types. For all you colorful characters, there will be casting
calls for your very own 15 Minutes of Fame.
So, whether
you find yourself looking for the party, wanting a good laugh
or clockwatching at 3 a.m., why not spend some time surfing
30aTelevision online or Mediacom Channel 8 for updates and local
discounts, to see who’s who and new in town, or to help
find that special pet a new home. Keep those cameras rolling,
because 30aTV is here to stay.
